Personal Data

As part of my service of providing Alexander Technique lessons, data received from clients who have contacted me in respect of booking lessons includes contact details and basic information stored for reference by myself.  All data records are kept in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Please note the following points:
Stored information:
Name, address, telephone/mobile numbers, email address, brief summary of any relevant health concerns, previous Alexander Technique lessons taken,
Data Use:
Contact details are kept in the event of an emergency or to arrange/re-arrange lessons. Any health information retained is for reference only. Data is not shared with anybody else unless otherwise requested.
Right of access:
Individuals can request a copy of their personal data and an explanation of how it is used.
Right to rectification:
Individuals have the right to amend, change or remove any of their personal data kept at any time. Individuals may also ask to have their personal data deleted.
Right to restrict processing:
If an individual thinks that their personal data is incorrect or collected without prior consent, the individual may request limited use of their personal data.
Right to data portability:
Individuals have the right to access their personal data in a structured, commonly used and readable electronic format. All personal data about an individual can be requested and will be provided within 40 days.
Right to object:
Where an individual decides to no longer allow their personal data to be included in analytics at any time, the individual may opt out of use of their data for these purposes.
Data storage retention period:
Data is generally stored for a period of 8 years, or as long as the client is taking Alexander Technique lessons. There are some exceptions where client’s data is stored for longer, i.e. in the case of Minors, which will be stored for 25 years. Individuals can request information about their data storage at any time.
